Chloe x Halle have officially landed on the Billboard 200 with their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, and some fans are a little surprised by the results. Selling a measly 2,055 copies, that was enough to put them at #100 on the chart.
If you've listened to any of their material, you'd know that they aren't your typical pop girls. They have crafted a sound that is all their own and doesn't quite fit into Top 40 radio. Even with being signed to Beyoncé's label, Parkwood Entertainment, the sisters have remained humble and true to their craft.
Instead of modeling them into mega-superstars with zero authenticity, Beyoncé allowed them to grow organically without any pressure to change who they are. Also, being under Beyoncé's imprint, the amount of resources they probably have at their disposal could easily put them at a level of stardom with the regular pop princesses.
But Chloe x Halle are not regular.
They will be hitting the stage at Coachella next week and dousing us with their Black Girl Magic! The masses will hopefully catch on to their brilliance soon because talent needs to be celebrated when it's actually there.
