First and foremost, congratulations to Cardi B and Offset on the baking bundle of joy!
SNL made the perfect home for Cardi to reveal the inevitable baby bump that fans have been speculating for months. With the release of her debut album on track to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 and now the baby news, Cardi is on an unstoppable winning streak.
While the expecting mother revels in her joy, we can’t help but wonder what this means for her appearances at Coachella and the extended North American leg of the 24K Magic Tour with Bruno Mars.
Women performing pregnant is not anything new. When M.I.A. performed at the Grammy’s in 2009, it was a miracle her baby didn't just fall out on the stage. Then in 2017, Beyoncé showed off her freshly revealed baby bump at the Grammy’s, all while defying gravity as only goddesses do.
When news broke that Beyoncé was pregnant with the royal twins, the first thing that popped into most people’s minds was if they needed to sell their Coachella tickets. Bey, obviously, pulled out of her headlining spot at Coachella 2017 to focus on growing Destiny’s Child 2.0.
With gossip sites expecting Baby Bardi to be born in July, that gives Mama Cardi only a few months to prepare for her tour with Bruno that kicks off in Denver on September 7 and ends with four shows in Los Angeles on October 23, 24, 26 and 27.
No word yet on whether or not Cardi plans on trimming her show load, but it's likely that this baby won't keep her from shutting it down at Coachella!
